Four Cheese Black Bean Turkey Burgers


This was my first attempt at Stuffed Turkey Burgers of any kind. I saw the ASTV STUFZ and thought, ” UH I can do that myself!” If I can do things myself I do not buy the ASTV products, lol Turns out only about 30% of the ASTV products are worth buying using that “If I can do it myself” verse.

The only thing I did that annoyed me was I cooked them in the frying pan which took an hour. Use Oven, because it cooks them in about 12-15 minutes.

All you need fro this one is:

1. A cup with a Silver Dollar Sized Bottom

2. Turkey Burger (2 lbs per 4 to 6 burgers)

3. Original Mrs. Dash (A Dash per burger)

4. Black Beans (Drained, teaspoon full per burger)

5. Four Cheese (Shredded, tablespoon full burger)

6. Non Stick 9×7 Baking Dish

7. Instant Read Thermometer For Baking (Very large burgers so this is needed to prevent salmonella from undercooked foods)

Preheat Oven To 375 Degrees

Make (8) 3 ounce patties, press 4 of them down gently i the center to make an indention. WASH HANDS!!

Into pressed patties add tsp per patty of black beans and 1 tablespoon per  patty of shredded four cheese.

Use remaining 4 patties: 1 at a time press 1 unpressed patty on top of each pressed/filled patty. Important: Once the patties are together, one at a time cup them in your hands to create a ball, gently pressing sides together. It should look like before you pressed them into patties. Now gently flatten the 4 patties out. Place each in pan far from one another as possible.

Bake for 12 minutes, flip burgers carefully, then bake another 12 minutes or until done. Be sure it is done, This is a HUGE set of burgers so you want to test it with a An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Shortcut: A lot of people are just mixing the ingredients in a bowl with the burgers, then make into patties and bake to the specifications above.
